CLOSED CELL
Closed cell foam expands at a slower rate, but is more dense, rigid, and durable than open cell. Which in return helps strengthen the structure of the building you will be insulating. The R value is higher, making closed cell a better option for thermal insulation and temperature regulation. Due to it being more dense, water does not pass through the foam. Closed cell foam is the only insulation material that is identified by FEMA as flood-resistant.
